Happy Birthday Liz.

Its been a cold and wet and chilly Queens birthday weekend and I am now contemplating a new knitting project and a new book to read after having read Robert Harris "Pompeii". Both El Pres and I have been listening to Mike Duncan's podcast of the "History of Rome" and have come to the realisation that history really does repeat! I remember a quote that I learnt from high school and I think it goes something like this : " the thing about history is that we dont learn from history" or something like that.

The black silk tweed cardy is now finished and is now being worn as I am typing this. The next question is what to make next, even though I have started a granny square rug, as the Knitty Managers knit group wanted to know how to go about making them.

So I think a cream cardy is on the way. Adapting a Jo Sharp pattern for wool that is not Jo Sharp's. Its some lovely Merino wool from AslanTrends, Del Cerro. So I know I wont get the exact finish but J…

I know not that cardy again. I have nearly finished it. Its only because I make other things while making this. Its too hard not stray and start something else! Well thats my excuse.

Our very first managers knitting group was held at my place last Wednesday afternoon. We all enjoyed ourselves as there were only 4 of us so far. El Pres made himself scarce by mowing San Chelsea's lawns etc. Thanks El Pres. Next meeting is Tuesday June 7th to fit in with the girls who are going away. But they will be back in time for the next one after that, as one of them will be hosting at their home as we decided to take it turns to host each fortnight.

Sunday 22nd May - finished the 3 belles cosy pattern.

Completed this cotton doily from a pattern that I had stashed away for the last 20 years. Crocheted while listening to the Roman Empire podcast. Used Panda Regal cotton 4ply yarn.
I will  this at my first knitting & crochet group on Wednesday the 25th May, serving up with a high tea and lots of gossip and laughing.

Finished at last,  it is to be yet tested but I think its okay as this is my first pattern for others to use. Yeah, merrily, yeah.
I am offering this pattern for free when you purchase the yarn from Fabrics Plus or you can contact me for a kit with yarn and pattern. Happy crocheting!

Its a cool winters day here and I have to go out and buy groceries as the cupboards and fridge are empty, but all I want to do is watch a movie and Knit.

Sunday Morning Breakie

Ahh nothing nicer than a cup of tea on sunday morning.
With ones teapot all nice and cosy in its new cover.
At first I wasn't too sure if I liked the design I made,
but after leaving it around for a week or two with many ooh's and ahh's and can you show me how to make this, my deisgn has grown on me.

My Birthday

My 50th birthday with my Mum. A warm wet night atOskars on Burleigh here on the Gold Coast 28th March 2011
Completed at last one baby's blanket for a cot or pusher or bassinet.

Great day to enjoy Thursday!

this was a week ago, now its all joined and I am just finishing it off. A baby's blanket in denim grey with blue flecks and purle/navy yarn all in 4ply. This will be available to purchase from my Fabrics Plus website in a week or so under my Got2Knit page.

Now all i have to is to stock up my stash as this has left a hole in it.

long time no write!

Hi there yes it has been a long time since I have blogged and that is because I have been very very busy with San Chelsea with holiday bookings and getting ready for Rod's nephews wedding on Kangaroo Island.(I was going to type super busy but that sounded nerdy.) Any way I still kept busy with crocheting a shawl to wear as it may come in handy if it got cold. So I decided I had to bead. Had some swaroski crystal beads in my stash and off I went after selecting a pattern from a handy book by Betty Barnden 'Handbook of Crochet Stitches'.
